1. Mission Statement and Values

Mission Statement:

At the Academy, we are committed to providing a Christ-centered education and athletic training that fosters academic excellence, spiritual growth, and character development. Our goal is to equip student athletes with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to serve God and others.

Core Values:

  • Faith: We integrate Christian principles into all aspects of learning and living.

  • Respect: We honor God and others through our words and actions.

  • Integrity: We are honest and uphold strong moral principles.

  • Excellence: We strive for our best in all endeavors.

2. Academic Expectations

  • Homework: We have a no homework policy that we consider a privilege for student athletes. Assessment work is completed in class and is designed to reinforce the classroom learning. If a student athlete fails to complete the work during the class period, then it is their responsibility to complete it before the next class.

  • Grades: Regular assessments will be used to evaluate progress. Report cards will be issued quarterly.

  • Class Participation: Active participation in class is encouraged. Student athletes should be prepared for each class and contribute to discussions.

3. Behavioral Expectations

  • Respect: Student athletes are expected to show respect to teachers, coaches, peers, and themselves.

  • Responsibility: Student athletes should take responsibility for their actions and their learning.

  • Kindness: Acts of kindness and empathy are encouraged at all times.

4. Attendance and Absences

  • Regular Attendance: Student athletes should attend school regularly and arrive on time.

  • Excused Absences: Parents should notify the school of any absences due to illness or other legitimate reasons.

  • Make-Up Work: Student athletes are responsible for notifying the instructor or coach they need to complete missed assignments due to an absence.

5. Homework Policy

To support student learning and ensure that classroom time is used effectively, our homework policy is as follows:

  1. In-Class Completion: Students are expected to use classroom time to work on and complete assignments. This allows for immediate support and feedback from the teacher and ensures that all students are engaged with the material.

  2. Responsibility for Unfinished Work: If a student does not complete an assignment during class time, it is their responsibility to finish the work at home. This ensures that students are accountable for managing their time and meeting deadlines.

  3. Communication and Support: Students should communicate with the teacher if they are struggling to complete assignments during class. The teacher will provide guidance and support as needed. However, if work remains unfinished, it must be completed at home.

  4. Submission of Work: All assignments must be submitted by the designated deadline. Failure to do so may result in a reduction of points or other consequences as outlined in the grading policy.

  5. Parental Involvement: Parents are encouraged to support their children in managing their homework responsibilities. However, students are expected to complete their assignments independently to build their skills and independence.

By adhering to this policy, students will develop better time management skills and ensure they stay on track with their learning objectives.

6. Health and Safety

  • Medication: Any medication must be administered by a parent or guardian.

  • Emergency Contacts: Keep your contact information up to date in case of emergencies.

  • Health Policies: Please stay home if you are sick, and notify the director of any absences by 9:00 a.m.

7. Extracurricular Activities

  • Clubs and Sports: Participation in extracurricular activities is encouraged to enhance student athletes’ social and personal development. The Academy will actively include all families in the launch of our sports and clubs.

  • Commitment: Student athletes will be instructed on how to balance their extracurricular commitments with their academic responsibilities.

8. Communication

  • Parent-Teacher Meetings: Scheduled semesterly to discuss student athlete progress. Parents are encouraged to attend.

  • School Newsletter: Updates and important information are communicated through Gradelink and in the school newsletter.
