English Exploration
Elite Athletes Academy understands English as the unique study of our language and literature, reading and analyzing fiction and non-fiction texts, and writing and speaking in English.
Students will be challenged to read and analyze different types of written texts, study grammatical methods, evaluate historical works, and research, draft, and publish main works of writing.
Academy English is the study of past and present literature, the art of storytelling, the formulas of grammar, and the development of a confident writing style, voice, and format.
Academy Students will immerse themselves in literature, grammatical composition and novelistic comparison to develop a confident voice in reading, writing, and speaking.
The Academy will take English to a whole new level!
Academy English
Elite Athletes Academy knows how important English is and embraces it daily in some form of instruction and assessment.
English will be taught by a few different methods.
Assessment: Prior to starting at Elite Athletes Academy, students will be given an English Assessment Test to gage their skill level. We will be focusing heavily on grammar, rhetoric, composition, media/novel literacy, and crafting a confident writing voice.
Weekly: Every Monday there will be a grammar concept taught in English, throughout the week we will go over it with examples. On Friday there will be a quiz on that concept.
Bi-Weekly (Tuesday & Thursday): Twice a week English will be taught in Block segments. Students will be separated by skill level and taught through a variety of learning styles. Topics for Elite Athletes Academy English include: Comparison of Classic and Modern Literature, Poetry Analyzation, Grammar and Vocabulary, Passive & Active Writing, News & Media Writing, Novelistic Literacy, Class Projects and more.
